International Centre for Yoga Education and Research
The International Centre for Yoga Education and Research (ICYER) is following Yoga in the traditional way, and includes a scientific part. ICYER also does a variety of other activities (e.g. traditional dance), it is a larger organisation with many activities. At Yoganjali Natyalayam Yoga is taught.
ICYER is located in Pondicherry, a small nice old French-style village on the east coast, just next to the beach.
The ashram at ICYER is called Ananda Ashram. Founded by Swami Gitananda in 1968 it is one of the old centers in India. Now the Ananda Ashram has 75 centers all over the world.

Access to the teacher training course is limited by some very strict rules. Only 10 canditates are selected every year. They live in the ashram for 6 months on a strict vegetarian diet.
