Mysore Mandala
Yoga, healing, and good food
In the pretty neighborhood of Lakshmipuram is a traditional Indian home, complete with high ceilings and wooden columns. Within this house, and the tranquil gardens that surround it, is the Mysore Mandala center for healing and health.
Owned by a organic farmer N.Harish Bheemaiah & agriculturist & coffee planter from Coorg, it is home to an ayruvedic healing center, a cafe serving some reputedly very good food, and BNS Iyengar, Dr V. Nagaraj other qualified & experienced Ashtanga yoga, Hata Yoga teacher are serving.
The Ashtanga yoga sessions are individualized to challenge each student – to the point where not all attendees are comfortable with the deep level of stretching involved in each of the asanas (poses).
Those who are unafraid of testing their body's limits, however, are instant devotees of Mysore Mandala if the reviews are anything to go by.
Sessions are held in two-hour blocks (much longer than the average Western session) from 6 am and again from 4.30pm.
