Rikhiapeeth, formerly known as Rikhia Ashram, is located in a small and remote village of Rikhia Panchayat, 12 km from the famous temple of Deoghar, also known as Baba Baidyanath Dham, in the state of Jharkhand.
Rikhiapeeth aims at disseminating the ancient spiritual knowledge as propagated by the vedic lineage of rishis in the Vedas, Upanishads and Puranas, to all regardless of caste, creed, nationality, religion and gender. In other words, Rikhiapeeth is a modern day gurukul.
Theory and practices can be learnt in a yoga school. However, the training received in the ashram - with the right atmosphere and the right vibrations - will influence the deeper layers of the mind, enabling the evolution of consciousness, which is the real aim of yoga.
- Ashram Life/Jivan Satra
Ashram Life Satra is a new program inspired by Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati who strongly believes that ashram culture is as essential for us today as it was in the days of the rishis and munis who started this tradition.
- Yoga Teacher Training
The Bihar School of Yoga will be conducting Yoga Teacher Training Courses at Rikhiapeeth. Teacher Training provides a systematic understanding of practices and the method of teaching.
