Located in the capital city of Tamil Nadu, and still brimming with the energy of Iyengars last visit, Yoga Dipam is proud to be the first authorized Iyengar studio in Chennai. Keeping strictly in the tradition of Yogacharya BKS Iyengar's teaching and adhering to the requirements and standards that BKS has implemented for his certified instructors.

All of our teachers are rigorous and diligent about their intention to uphold the Iyengar name in all that they teach, and their consistency in ongoing training and education are unparalleled. Our head instructor, Gayathri Ramesh, is a certified Iyengar instructor at the advanced junior level, and has had a steady flow in teaching, practicing, and studying in the BKS lineage for over a decade. She has spent a great deal of time studying at RIMYI in Pune and has studied directly under BKS himself, and his two children. She has been teaching in America since 2005 and has taught at a variety of Iyengar centers around the county. She is happy to be starting up her teaching career in Chennai, and looks forward to the challenges and blessings that this experience may bring her.

Our center offers classes at 4 levels, a student must complete one level before advancing to the next and are arranged in order from our introductory class for all students new to the Iyengar system, all the way to advanced classes. We also have an additional category for therapeutic needs for specific health problems which one is trying to resolve.
