What you will practice:
Detailed instructions in classes will allow you to develop a strong
foundation for practice. Alpesh teaches Hatha yoga in the tradition of
Iyengar which focuses on aligning the body to allow the breath and
energy to flow optimally throughout the body. After the course you
will gain enough experience to take home your own self practice or
prepare yourself for teacher training.
The Iyengar style is an ideal practice for those with physical health
issues or old injuries. The focus on alignment in the body allows each
individual to work within their own limits safely while still building
strength and flexibility in the body. In Alpesh’s intensive course,
you will receive personal attention in class, assistance in using
props, and can work at your own pace to develop practice that is
tailored to your needs. Alpesh has many years of experience using yoga
to both heal himself and help others.
Experienced practitioners and teachers
For those who have experience in any style of yoga and experienced
practitioners, this course will help deepen your own practice with the
benefit of Alpesh’s knowledge of and focus on alignment. You will also
learn variation of poses to accommodate various physical limitations
based on the body’s needs, gaining experience in using modifications
for both yourself and while teaching.
