The practice of yoga creates an active union between the body and mind by uniting breath and movement with meditation and stillness of the body. The styles of yoga taught at Yoga Villa Palolem are Hatha and Ashtanga.
Krishna Das Baba is the yoga instructor, master chef and owner of this center. He has practiced yoga for the past four decades and embeds the principals of the practice within his daily life. When asked about his yogic philosophy, he says he will not try to define it because it has already been defined enough throughout history. Krishna’s love for yoga is simple and rests within the tranquil, cleansing nature of the practice. He says that it is possible to achieve a longer life along with a sense of community and enchantment through the practice of yoga. Krishna’s hope is to convey this aspect of the practice to his students. He says yoga provides peace of mind, good health and compassion through sharing and friendship with others.
